As a woman who has served a mission I would like to second what you have said about the growth that comes! I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that for me my mission changed my entire perspective! I thought that I knew and understood the gospel before I went, but I learned how little I knew and am thankful for the chance to continue learning even now. From my experience out in the field I would also submit that not everyone should go on a mission. There are several ways to serve the Lord and strengthen your testimony. It is actually what you become as you study the gospel and forget yourself serving that helps you prepare for future relationships. Revelation should always be key in making this decision.
