I agree Terrie, if Jesus told a child to walk out on the water, the child would have the faith to do it. An adult would think that it is impossible.

In reply to <a href="https://ldsblogs.com/23624/come-follow-will-answer-jesus-call#comment-205150">Chico</a>.

Chico, I know that is a popular topic of debate. One thing I have learned to do with the Bible is to gather up all the information on a subject, combine it, and find out what the bigger lessons are. I learn so much more when I put all the verses in the Bible on a subject together than I do when I look at a single verse in isolation. We have to wonder why God is going to choose a little child to be the leader of these animals. As we search the Bible, we notice that Jesus liked to use children as an example of what we all ought to become. I quoted such a scripture in my article. We are told to become like little children.

I believe that Jesus will choose a child to lead the animals because children have extraordinary faith. Adults might be too frightened. They will remember how wild the animals once were. They might hold on to a past bad experience. However, children have faith. The children I teach always believe what Jesus taught. So, if He says, "It will be okay. These wild animals will not harm us," they will trustingly go right to them and lead. They will coax and soothe any animals who are nervous.

When Jesus was a child, He led the priests by teaching them in the temple. He showed us what the Savior would always know--that children have such powerful faith, they will always be able to lead and teach us if we are paying attention. I learn so much from my little students. I may be the teacher, but often they lead me in the most important learning. Putting the entire Bible together, I believe the Savior wants us to learn that children can lead adults in many areas--not just in that one scenario. I am not intimidated by that. I learn from anyone who can teach me, regardless of age, faith, or status.

Amazing a blog on scripture would so completely miss the point, or deliberately take out of context, a simple description of a child leading animals -- the lion, lamb, etc. -- all getting along in the kingdom of God. It has nothing to do with a child leading adults.
