Thank you for this beautiful article that brought back so many memories! And thank you so much for helping keep Buck's Lake Girls Camp rough! My first experience there was also as a socially awkward 12 yr old who was excited about camping. And I too had special leaders there who made an eternal difference in my life. I had four wonderful years of Girls Camp there before my family moved to a different state. Then my younger sister and I flew back just to attend Girls Camp there the next summer as well. Bucks Lake is my "waters of Mormon" (Mosiah 18:30). The experiences I had there left an indelible imprint on my heart that have carried me through some difficult times. I just found out today that I get to go back to Girls Camp for the first time in 27 years. I won't be going to Buck's Lake, but I will carry its spirit and legacy with me and share it with another generation of Young Women. Thank you again for writing this and sharing!
