Brother Merrill, I very much enjoy the things you share about the gospel, however, I have come to the conclusion that sometimes trials just happen....for no apparent reason. We cannot control others free agency, and many times trials are a result of choices that fall on us because of the free agency of those around us. It is very hard for me to believe for example, that a Mother in Africa, who cannot nourish or clothe her child as she sits and watches him suffer, is supposed to be learning something that she hasn't learned in life yet. I just can't wrap my head around that. I do believe that we can learn from some trials, but I have also come to believe that sometimes life just throws you things..because that's life.....not because a person hasn't learned everything they need to learn in their own life.

Brother Merrill, once again you shared truth in a way that makes it easy to understand. Thank you so much for being willing to do this for those of us who have a hard times explaining things to others. You do make my life so much easier.

Gentle hugs to you and your wife (because she puts up with you - wink) from a distance.
