I went through a similar experience. I was a great housekeeper for years until I went back to work full-time, then everything fell apart. I collected a lot of “stuff” too. When I retired, I took 3 months and went through every room, every closet, every shelf, and even the garage. I reclaimed my house. I also made the same comparisons at that time about the “stuff” in our souls. At that time I made huge life changes — and they were definitely changes for the better.
