@MollyKerr & @AmyKeim ABSOLUTELY! This is one reason I am so grateful for the internet--it allows us to come together across unknown miles and join together in honest, spiritual discussions. We help each other better find ways to follow our Savior!
May we remember our divine natures as we interact with others ... and may we remember theirs as well! <3

In reply to <a href="https://ldsblogs.com/40501/a-fearless-woman-of-god#comment-584271">Molly Kerr</a>.

I love this! It's incredibly frustrating to be treated as inferior by men who are supposed to (and commissioned to) respect and value women. However, it's also an opportunity for increased empathy and compassion, as you said. Likewise, I think it's important to remember that this can happen on all sides of the board — I've seen men treated disrespectfully by women in the Church, and that's not acceptable either. We are all commanded to love one another and any abuse of power, whatever capacity that might be in, is a breach of God's trust. We must all strive to treat one another in a Christlike manner.

It has been hard over the years for me to earn respect at work with those not of our faith, to finally feel valued, listened to, and to fit in. Then, to serve in callings at Church where we should automatically treat each other with respect because of our belief in the divine heritage of each individual ---- only to be ignored and dismissed as if I know nothing, have no experience, and lack inspiration. To almost be edged out of conversations with some groups of men, when that is who I work with all week long. However, it has inspired me to treat others better and to promote equality between my son and daughter. It has taught me to appreciate loving priesthood holders who aren't insecure.
