Beautifully written! I know Satan is wise when he uses this tactic of comparison to make people miserable. I used to beat myself up about my small boobs until I decided to make a list of the pros of being small chested and the negatives of being busty. I then realized that it's all how we choose to look at things that makes us feel good or bad. Thanks for writing this!

In reply to <a href="https://ldsblogs.com/40672/comparison-thief-joy#comment-584788">Gale</a>.

I 100% believe that you are the fountain of all wisdom, Gale. I love this! We can't just pick and choose pieces of others' lives that we like — we have to look at the whole thing. Everyone has their struggles and their ups and downs, just like everyone has unique blessings. That's so important to keep in mind when we are inclined to throw ourselves a pity party (worst party ever)! Thanks for this awesome reminder.

I love this. I know it sounds strange, but I used to go "leg shopping." I really do have the most awful legs (this is not just negative self-talk). I used to walk through the mall and look at girls' legs. I'd choose the ones I at least was going to ask for in the resurrection. You are right. This exercise made me sadder. I finally decided that I had to trade straight across. I couldn't just take the legs; I had to take the entire package. That made me realize I wouldn't want to risk it. My life is too full of amazing people, memories, and beliefs I would never let go of. I'm still tempted to compare, but I'm improving.
