Sue, I couldn't love this comment more. I actually wrote an entire article on this concept once. It's so true! We're the only person we're with 24/7, and liking ourselves (and becoming our best selves!) makes all the difference in the world.

My dear Elisha, I love your name, sounds Biblical. These words are coming from a very old lady who has gained a lot of knowledge over the years, and I’m still learning. First of all the wall you built was not solid concrete, more like one of those blanket tents we built as children, you left one end open because you had not given up.....and you never will. I felt many times like I would never find my other half, but then started concentrating on finding joy instead. I looked more outside myself and started giving friendship to every young man I met....just friendship, and one of those young men became a best friend....no romance...just quiet sweet times. We talked about everything, sometimes for hours about life and living. We walked and talked and found what we believed matched up. It took us a while to “fall in love”. He’s still my best friend (59 years later). I believe we all have that best friend out there. Forget about the push you feel to find”the one” and he’ll show up sooner or later. Just be happy with who you are and what you have now. Smile and make eye contact with everyone you meet, laugh a lot, walk with your head up and never, ever lose contact with your Heavenly Father again. Your comforter will guide you so listen closely in the quiet time you set aside for it every day and I promise you will hear what you need to hear. Much love to you little sister❤️
