Without the Saviour's atonement we would not have a chance. His willingness to have suffered for ALL our sins be they great or small helps us to be willing to repent and come unto Him. he only is the way and the life. I am grateful to know that I can repent and as said by Isaiah 1:18 - "though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow". Isn't that a wonderful promise? I agree Paul, it must be a total repentance - a change of heart and a disposition to refrain from that sin in our lives. But the Lord doesn't leave us alone to struggle on our own. We can have the Holy Ghost as a wonderful help in our progression as we journey through repentance. Then we will know we are forgiven - we'll feel the Lord's mercy. It is a wonderful comfort that though He doesn't condone what we have done, He never turns His back on us - His perfect love is always there.
