Whether you’re a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or a member of another faith, the important thing to remember is that God, as our loving Heavenly Father, is an omnipotent Being, who loves all of His children. I strongly believe that he knows each of His children so well that he can see what kind of choices they will make according to the situation they are placed in. Perhaps He DID know that Lucifer was trying to gain power through rebellion, or perhaps He (as the loving Father that He is) gave Lucifer the benefit of the doubt, and had a way prepared where we could be tested without someone so evil to tempt His children on the earth. Either way, because of Lucifer’s disobedience, and ultimate banishment from heaven and eternal progression, the way was prepared that we had temptation on this earth so we could be tried and tested to see how willing we were to choose Jesus Christ again as Savior of mankind, and to see how willing we were to live with Heavenly Father again.

Patty, God knows everything. He knows what will happen and what we will do because He knows us so well. I think, therefore, He knew Satan would rebel. And to be honest, if he hadn’t, someone else would have. There is a trouble-maker in every crowd 🙂
