I loved that scripture on my mission, too! Now it's actually included in the introduction of the "<a href="https://www.lds.org/bc/content/ldsorg/languages/AdjustingMissLife_Booklet_6-7-13.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Adjusting to Missionary Life</a>" resource. That's a great scripture and one I'll likely add to my own "protection scriptures" list!

I remember during a hard time on my mission I read Alma 26:27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.
With force it testified of truth. Even now when I want to "turn back" or quit it reminds me that with the help of the Lord I will find success.
Love the idea of a protection scripture. I have several favorites. Need to look for one.
