I recently heard about a fun feature on the Church’s web site www.mormon.org They have an area where you can chat live online with a real missionary. I thought I’d check it out, so I clicked on the link and instantly received a greeting from a guy named Josiah. He was very polite and friendly and helped answer some questions I had about submitting referrals online. The conversation occurred in a pop-up window and it was really cool to know someone from the Church office building was sitting there typing just to little ‘ole me!
If you haven’t visited this website for awhile, be sure to swing by soon and take another peek. It is extremely easy to navigate and has tons of great information to share with your non-member friends. Anyone can request a visit from missionaries anywhere in the world. Visitors on the site can also request a free Bible or Book of Mormon, as well as click on a link that allows them to read the scriptures online.
If your computer has a Flash player you can watch several video clips on various gospel subjects, as well as hear testimonies from members of the Church. What a great resource this web site is for us to use as members of the Church! When you share a Pass-Along Card with a non-member they will be directed to this web site. It’s so easy! I keep a bunch of those cards in my car and purse, so I’ll be able to share the gospel at any time in a split second. Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Twelve Apostles encouraged all members to “carry a packet of these attractive pass-along cards and give them to persons, even casual acquaintances.” (”Sharing the Gospel,” Ensign, Nov. 2001, 9.)
I love the scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 24:12 which says “And at all times, and in all places, he shall open his mouth and declare my gospel as with the voice of a trump, both day and night.” With a simple click of a mouse the gospel can be shared!
I am reading “Come Follow Me” and wish to ask that the print be darker, like The Ensign. It is a strain to read. I compared it to The Ensign and it is quite a lot lighter. I suspect people of all ages have the same problem reading so much that is so light. I have a light bulb directly over it but I still struggle with it.
Please consider those of us who are older, people with vision problems or just the regular person who reads so much. I have never read so much in my life since the new programs. Thanks and I hope someone is listening and can pass the message along.
Hi Joanne,
We actually are not owned by or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is in charge of the Come Follow Me program. You will need to raise this concern with them via LDS.org. Good luck and we hope they are able to help answer your questions and concerns.
Best of luck,
Amy
Hello Imy just wondering how is children programs in our county
Also where do the children meet
Another thing what are the names of the teachers or leaders of the program
Hmmmmm….What are the children learning
Uhhhhhh….. Do they have.uniforms if so what do the uniforms look like
Hi Taylor,
The children in Primary typically meet in the Primary room in your local Latter-day Saint church meetinghouse, if there is one. If there isn’t a physical building, it may be held in a member’s home or in another designated space.
The children learn about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Their plan for us. There are no uniforms for primary.
For more information, you will need to check with your local Primary President (you can find where the nearest church is here) or, as this article suggests, talk with the missionaries.
Best of luck as you learn more about Primary!

HI AMY, My QUESTION, WHAT IS THE REASON OF READING ABOUT SO MANY WARS IN THE BOOK OF MORMON? REPLY , I just feel there is umpleasant reason, anger rages, lets fight, ddstroy, Kll, Stop, Peace, go home until another War. I skip over the reading of wars, and I have been critized for doing. THANKS, Billy
Hi Billy,
Here is a great article by Book of Mormon Central about why we study warfare in the Book of Mormon. Hope it helps!
Best,
Amy

I am a muslim and have been thinking that if chrisitan belief that Jesus is son of God and he died for our sins is true then there is no justification of any other faith but in reality it is equally difficult to prove.Because Jesus never said I am God or worship me.His gospel is nowhere to be found. He came for none but jews(who rejected him and he rejected all non jews)His gospel is no where to be found.Present gospel is with many contradictions. Then Paul who never met Jesus was able to enter his contradictions in Bible.May be I am wrong.please correct me if so.
Hi Muhammad! I’m so glad you reached out. You make an interesting point — is Jesus actually God? We believe He is an individual member of the Godhead, along with our Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost. They are all separate beings, but one in purpose. We know this through modern revelation, such as when Jesus Chris and Heavenly Father appeared to the young Joseph Smith (the first prophet of the restored gospel, also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). To read more about Jesus Christ’s life and ministry, click here. Also, this article, although not from a Latter-day Saint source, is great and may help to answer your specific question. I’m not sure what the author’s views on the trinity, which Latter-day Saints do not believe in, are, but even still, the article does help answer the question as to whether Jesus claimed to be part of the Godhead.
I have two copies of the 1988 movie Child’s Play and two copies of the 1997 movie Air Force One, they are on VHS and they are rated R. I was wondering if the sister missionaries came over and saw those tapes what would they do? Would they destroy the tapes?
Hi Dustin! No, the missionaries wouldn’t destroy your movies! They simply wouldn’t watch them.
Oh good! I’m autistic and obsessive compulsive and I still live with my parents and one Tuesday morning my parents had me go somewhere a few miles away from home and the sisters were there while I was gone and I was breathing heavily because I was so worried about leaving my tapes alone at home with them there!
I’m sure that was nerve-wracking, but no need to worry anymore! Glad I could answer your question. 🙂
So I am trying to figure out if I should go on a mission or not because all of my friends are either already on their missions and or they just got their mission call. So I do I know if I should go on a mission or not?
Going on a mission is a wonderful way to grow and it’s never going to be something you regret. That said, maybe you have some concerns that have kept you from going already. Share those concerns with your Bishop, and maybe you can modify a mission so that it meets your needs and lets you serve. My friend is on her mission right now, but they modified it. She is doing a service mission while living at home. I know a lot of people who have gone that route and received the same blessings as traditional missionaries.
When it was time for me to serve a mission, I couldn’t get a clear answer. Then conference came and I found my answer in one of the talks. Missions are individual. I didn’t end up serving a traditional mission. But I served a mission as a temple worker instead. I served on the weekends and worked during the week. Then later I served a mission as a writer. If I had it to do all over again, and I was in your shoes, I would suggest you pray about it and get a blessing. Examine your thoughts and desires. Take it to the Lord after you have thought it all through. And ask Him if your decision one way or another is something He will support. This is the first of many big decisions you will have in your life. Remember that God wants your success and for you to be successful in becoming the person He sees in you. He is on your side.
I would also remember what the scriptures say about getting answers to prayers. God always answers with love and warmth and peace. If you are having a stupor of thought or are anxious and worried, then you haven’t arrived at the right answer yet. I really hope that helps. Please feel free to ask more questions. We are here to help.
Hi Michela! I love Patty’s response and I think she gives so many fabulous suggestions on finding an answer to your question. I served a mission and I am so grateful I did, but something became clear to me as a missionary: serving a mission is NOT right for everyone. God has a different plan for each of us: for some of us, that involves going on a mission, while for others, it means staying home and serving where you are (like Patty did). God’s answer for you could be either one, and there are blessings attached to both. I love this article on the Church’s website about young women deciding whether to serve missions. I hope it’s (coupled with Patty’s advice) helpful to you!
I was wondering if it’s too late for people in their late 70s to repent of watching R rated movies?
I like to think you are kidding with this question. Because it is never too late to repent. The beauty of the Sacrament is that we get to repent every week, and try again. Baptism and the Sacrament cleanse us of our sins because God knows we will mess up over and over again until we finally get it right. If you are in your late 70’s and have decided that you want to clean up your life, then it’s not too late. The keys to repentance are 1- recognize the sin, 2- feel sorry for it enough to want to change and not do it again, and 3- don’t do it again. BUT if you are weak, like most humans and do it again, then we start over again. And eventually we will master ourselves and that sin won’t be a weakness anymore. Then we get to move on to mastering something else. Hope you have a good night!
Well I have been a fan of R rated action classics and R rated horror slasher classics. But what you are saying is we’re never too old?
This is a great question — yes, we’re certainly never too old to sincerely repent/seek forgiveness of our sins! To find out more about repentance, including how to repent, check out this page. Thanks, Dustin!
Hi.
Mormons believe in Purgatory (purification after death)?
Why baptize the death?
I have a question. Do you use original Hebrew and Greek language dictionaries and such in your studies to better and deeper understand the meaning of some of the text in the Bible?
Hi Christina,
While members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aren’t commanded to study Hebrew and Greek language dictionaries, many of our members do, as it enhances our textual and spiritual understanding of ancient texts like the Bible.
Thanks!
Amy
I remember a talk about planting two seedlings pine trees and being able to attach a hammock between them before the real end time trouble begin’s. Was told from the new conference center. Please help
I’m sorry, Greg — I haven’t been able to find anything relating to this. Hopefully someone in the comments will know what you are talking about!
Can I still get a temple recommend if I file bankruptcy
There are different kinds of bankruptcy. When you’re in a temple recommend interview the Lord wants you to be honest and pay off your debts. So make sure that you take care of your debts in some way, talk to your Bishop.
