There are few people that impact the world around them without ever meeting those so affected. Terrie Bittner is one of these people, and I am fortunately lucky to be one of the many she influenced. Now her words may be hard to articulate, but memories are forever. And even those that fade will be restored.
42 The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form; both limb and joint shall be restored to its proper frame, even as we now are at this time; and we shall be brought to stand before God, knowing even as we know now… Alma 43:42
I love Mormonism for its ability to fill in the missing pieces of eternal life in a way that creates a complete picture for me. I am so much better able to understand God’s plan for me now than I was before I became a Mormon. While God doesn’t explain everything to us, He has explained everything that really mattered—and shown me how to find my place in it all. – Terrie Lynn Bittner
Way back in 1972, Elder LeGrand Richards stood before the members of the Church in the tabernacle on Temple Square and shared the following experience:
Some years ago one of our nationally known radio commentators was asked the question, “What message could be broadcast to the world that would be considered of greater importance than any other message?” And he said, after giving the matter careful thought and deliberation, “To be able to say that a man who had lived here upon this earth had returned again with a message from God would be the greatest message that could be broadcast to the world.”
And that being true, the Latter-day Saints have the greatest message, not only that prophets like Moroni and John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John have visited this earth, but God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ.
Thanks Terrie. Time and again, we have been edified by your words of faith sharing that very message. The melody of your inspiration will play on for years to come.
And because of the Savior Jesus Christ, we will all return to our finest.
23 The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame. Alma 40:23
