With the event of Easter, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released another Easter message as it did last year. This season’s airing is entitled #hallelujah Find New Life. Missionaries had access to the video on the missionary portal prior to its release, even though the church didn’t make it available to the general public until March 13th. Watch it and enjoy the message of hope we have through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
But it’s not just one video. It’s multiple. It is web pages and songs and music and a message. And a brand new way of life for some. And hope for all. When our best is not good enough, when we have lost whatever is most important to us, when we think that we are trapped, sorrowful, and in pain, we can discover the hope and security that comes from knowing and believing in the promises of the Savior Jesus Christ. His assurance is real. His word, powerful. He changes my attitude every day as I apply the principles of His gospel in my home and family and life. There is no greater message available to man. Knowing this puts into perspective our daily challenges, gives them meaning and purpose, and shares with us comfort in the midst of despair. Hallelujah: Celebrate New Life Through Jesus Christ
And in an effort to help us remember this message of hope when we face struggles and hardship and pain, God has provided prayer so we can commune with Him daily, scriptures to speak with us regularly, the temple where we can serve and learn, prophets to guide us, commandments that empower us, and the sacrament each week to renew our covenants and commitment to Him. These are just a few of the dozens of methods God uses to stay relevant in our lives, close to us and our families, and sustain us regularly. This is but a handful of the myriad of ways His blessings can make a difference in our world today to protect and comfort us all.
3. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
We have many examples of the influence of Jesus Christ in our lives. Nearly 80,000 missionaries cover the globe to bring this message to families of all denominations. The faith and fortitude that result are inspiring. This message has brought much attention to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its members. More than ever before, people are being exposed to the message of Jesus Christ through all types of technology, methods, and resources made available to bless and strengthen all people on earth. Now they get to decide for themselves.
The message has not changed, but the number of means available to communicate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ are growing daily. The impact is seen in the efforts of missionaries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and giving out Book of Mormons to witness of Him all across the world on their own dime during the prime of their lives and loving every minute of it. The message is strengthening families and marriages and homes. It’s contagious and the people feel and see for themselves the difference it makes in their lives. For those with questions, meeting the missionaries or rubbing shoulders with faithful members for just a few minutes will dispel their misconceptions.
I am grateful for the knowledge that I have a loving Savior and for the uncertainty of my life. Because of it, I am able to practice faith and belief that my life is led by God. How beautiful. – Melanie Stucki
He can forgive our past and take away our sins. Only through Jesus Christ is the great plan of happiness possible. Because of Him, salvation is not only possible but assured if we will follow Him. As we look to the Savior for guidance and keep His commandments, our lives will become fuller and better and happier according to His plan and eternal happiness is our reward.
Sometimes when my situation appears overwhelming and beyond my ability to overcome, withstand, or endure, I defer to Him because with Jesus Christ my potential and possibilities are infinite. In Him, I can find rest.
30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
My father writes in his journal about a seminary teacher and his wife who spoke some time ago at church in our small town. Her talk was on a matter he had long been concerned about. The problem comes into perspective at a sacrament meeting when adults as well as children give tender loving praise for bishops, teachers, neighbors, and the prophet. But too few feel and express it for the Savior. He taught us to establish in the hearts of our children and families and the saints generally an even greater love for Jesus Christ.
Friends may betray us, spouses may leave us, health may fail, and our possessions burn up. But Christ, His promises, understanding, and love will never fail us. With some trials and most tragedies, only this can get us through. When we can take a thankless, demanding calling; give up something we wanted greatly, so we can pay our tithing; or help out someone who has badly hurt us … and say “I wouldn’t do that for anyone, except I’ll do it for Christ!” … then the power for good he can have in our lives is becoming a reality. He must be the foundation of our lives.
Those are my father’s words, yet they also represent my feelings. Hundreds of others have expressed similar sentiments in word and deed and song and example and effort and intentions. The Savior Jesus Christ recognizes and honors our determination to follow Him.
23. And now, my brethren, I desire that ye shall plant this word in your hearts, and as it beginneth to swell even so nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree, springing up in you unto everlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son. And even all this can ye do if ye will.
In Jesus Christ I have found new life. You can too. His gift is provided for all of us. His plan is perfect. The victory we receive through Him is real, tangible, and healing. In Him, we shall all be made alive eternally.
